1What this policy covers
This policy covers the Babya app for iPhone and this website. Babya is made by Dorp AI, based in the Netherlands ("we", "us").
Babya is a notebook for parents: feeds, nappies, sleep, growth and the rest. Everything you enter is stored on your phone. This policy explains what that means in practice, and the few situations in which any information reaches us at all.
2What Babya stores, and where
Babya does not collect personal data. What you enter is stored on your device, where we cannot reach it.

If your iPhone backups are switched on, Babya's data is included in them like any other app's. Those backups are handled by Apple, or by your computer, under their terms. We are not part of that.
Permissions. Babya asks for one: notifications, and only when you turn on a feed reminder. Say no and everything else works the same.
3What Babya sends over the internet
Nothing. The app contains no networking code: no server to talk to, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party tracking libraries. Reminders are local notifications, so Babya never asks Apple for a push token and none of your notifications pass through a server.
On the App Store, Babya's privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
We plan an optional, paid Family pack with sync between two parents' phones. It is not available yet. Syncing means sending data, so before it ships this policy will be updated to say exactly what is sent, how it is encrypted and where it is stored. Anyone who doesn't buy it keeps an app that sends nothing.
5This website and cookies
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no advertising.
Its typefaces are served from this site itself, so loading a page sends nothing to Google or any other third party. The site loads no fonts, scripts, trackers or embeds from anywhere else. Our web host may keep standard server logs for a short time to keep the site running.
6How your data is protected
Your entries live in Babya's own storage on your phone. iOS keeps each app's storage separate, so other apps can't read it, and protects it with the device encryption tied to your passcode. Keep a passcode on your phone. It is the thing that protects everything on it, Babya included.
Because nothing is sent to us, there is no Babya server that could be breached.
7How long data is kept
- On your phone: until you delete it. Delete a single entry from its own screen, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
- Emails to us: for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than two years after the last message in the conversation.
8Children's information
Babya is used by parents to record things about their child. It is not made for children to use, and it is not in the App Store's Kids category.
Information about your child, including health-related entries such as temperatures and growth, stays on your phone. We never receive it. Babya describes what you logged; it does not interpret it, and it is not a medical device. Nothing in it replaces your doctor, midwife or health visitor.
9Your rights in the EU and UK
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and move your personal data, and to object to how it is used.
For data in the app, you exercise these rights yourself, because you hold the data:
- Access and portability: You → Export as CSV gives you everything, in a file other apps can read.
- Correction: open any entry and change it.
- Erasure: delete an entry, or delete the app.
For anything you have emailed us, write to us at the address below and we'll act on it within one month. We process emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Elsewhere in the EU, it is the authority in the country where you live. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
10Your rights in the United States
Some US states, including California, give residents rights over their personal information: to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising.
We don't sell or share personal information, we don't do targeted advertising, and we collect none through the app. The export and delete options above cover the data Babya keeps on your phone. For anything else, contact us. We won't treat you differently for asking.
11Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects what happens to your data, such as the Family pack sync, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. We'll never start sending your data anywhere without you choosing to.
